To clarify a common misconception about this web site; it has been built and continues to be run on a 100% voluntary basis. We do not charge anyone for anything on this web site, for example:

• Business listings
• Organisations' listings
• Event listings
• Banner adverts

We specifically want this web site to be a FREE resource for businesses and organisations to promote their products and services so that the community can benefit from a fully comprehensive source of useful, local information.

We have not received any funding or payment for this at any stage but the majority of our cost is in time. Our aim is to continue to evolve this web site over the coming months and years ahead.

Who Started Malmesbury.com?

Local residents and business owners, Justin and Ruth Jeffrey of Mindvision Media, located in Malmesbury Business Park (next to Dyson).

Justin has been developing commercial web sites for many years, since the early days of the world wide web. He has also worked extensively in the telecoms sector, supplying marketing consultancy and creative services.

Ruth farmed beef cattle in Charlton for 15 years before a complete career change to set up and run a corporate gift distributorship in Swindon. Ruth married Justin in 2005 and in 2007, left her previous position to join Mindvision as a Director, bringing corporate gifts into the Mindvision offering.

Justin and Ruth live at Burton Hill on the southern edge of the town of Malmesbury.

What Started Malmesbury.com?

A love of Malmesbury and more...

"I (Justin Jeffrey) developed this project having been resident here in Malmesbury for over 20 years and my wife, Ruth was born and bred in Malmesbury but we didn't feel there was an easy way to keep up with what's going on in the town. In fact, we would almost describe ourselves as having been blissfully unaware, which has only become more apparent as the Malmesbury.com project has unfurled. Even now, we know that more and more information will come to light and that's exactly what Malmesbury.com is all about – providing the community with all the information there is to know about what's going on and when, easily accessible, online 24hrs a day from one 'easy to use', central source.

This project has been on the cards for a long time, 8 years in fact. Perhaps it's like having children in that there's never a perfect time but in 2010, the 1000th anniversary year of Eilmer's flight, it became a now or never moment!"

What Do We Get Out Of It?

Commercially... a little bit of local exposure for Mindvision.

We moved our business, Mindvision Media into Malmesbury Business Park in 2008 but without having actively advertised ourselves locally, not many businesses in the town know we’re there. Our client base is nationwide and we’re travelling as far afield as Kent and Aberdeen which isn’t ideal for the carbon footprint!

As our business listings on the Malmesbury.com directory show, we provide graphic design, web site development (feel free to see Malmesbury.com as a case study!) and branded corporate gifts. We work with businesses of all sizes, literally from the self employed electrician right through to blue chip organisations.
