A 21-year-old sex offender who has breached the terms of his suspended jail sentence for the third time failed to turn up at court yesterday and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Jason Mundy formerly of White Horse Road, Cricklade, and now of Rotunda Terrance, Cheltenham, received a suspended prison sentence in Swindon last April for having sexual activity with a child under 13.

He was sentenced to a nine month jail term suspended for two years with supervision and 250 hours of unpaid work.

A sexual harm prevention order was also imposed restricting Mundy's liberty has has to be registered as a sex offender.

Mundy has admitted breaching the sentence and his lawyer, Alexander Daymond told Gloucester Crown Court he had rung the three phone numbers he has listed for Mundy but all the calls had gone to voicemail and he had heard nothing back from him.

Judge Jamie Tabor QC issued a warrant for Mundy's arrest, saying: "His head might have gone in the sand."

During his last appearance the judge told Mundy: "You appear to be approaching this as some sort of voluntary arrangement. That is not how it works."
