Malmesbury Town Council comprises sixteen elected members. 

The work of the council takes place mainly at the committee level. Committees are small focused teams of elected members working on your behalf within the scope of that committee's remit.

 The committees that exist within Malmesbury Town Council are as follows:

• Policy & Resources Committee
• Planning & Environmental Issues Committee
• Leisure & Youth Committee
• Town Promotions & Tourism Committee
• Town Hall Management Committee
• Joint Burial Committee
• Mayor's Social Committee
• Selection Committee

The committees all report their findings and recommendations to Full Council which acts to either ratify or reject each committee's recommendations.
