AIR Cadet Jack Greening was delighted with his first flight in a Viking T-1 glider.
The 14-year-old Malmesbury Secondary School pupil took to the skies with instructor Flight Lieutenant Jason Martin at the 625 Volunteer Gliding School in Hullavington last week.
Jack, from Malmesbury, said: "It was a fantastic flight. The most enjoyable part was seeing Malmesbury and Hullavington. The weather was really good so we could see for miles around."
On take-off, the Viking T-1 ascended 1,000 feet in just ten seconds. Jack said: "I want to be a pilot when I'm older so this really gives me the inspiration and insight into what flying is all about. It was an amazing experience and I'd love to do it again."
Jack was chosen because he had not flown since becoming a cadet.
The cadets meet at the drill hall, Tetbury Hill (opposite Malmesbury primary school) on Mondays and Thursdays.
