How to Find Malmesbury
Malmesbury - Information

By Car

Malmesbury is 5.5 miles (10 minutes) north of the M4, J17

From J17 of the M4, take the A429, north towards Malmesbury (also signed to Cirencester). Travel through the village of Corston and at the next roundabout you are on the outskirts of Malmesbury. From here, go straight on to the next roundabout (at water tower and BP petrol station) and turn left, which will bring you into the town via the short stay car park. There is also a long stay car park (follow the signs in the town) but please note the steep walk by steps or road up to the abbey and town centre from the long stay car park.

Malmesbury is 29 miles (45 minutes) south east of the M5, J11a, via the Cotswold town of Cirencester.

From J11a of the M5, take the A417, east towards Cirencester. At Cirencester, follow signs for the South West and Bristol, skirting around the town to end up on the A429. After approximately 1 mile on this road, turn left (still A429) towards Malmesbury (also signed to Kemble). Travel through the villages of Kemble and Crudwell until you reach a roundabout with a water tower and BP petrol station adjoining it. Turn right, which will bring you into the town via the short stay car park. There is also a long stay car park (follow the signs in the town) but please note the steep walk by steps or road up to the abbey and town centre from the long stay car park.
