Application for 180 new houses at Filands is submitted

Within days of the Sainsbury's application for a new store at the garden centre site, Gleeson have submitted a planning application for up to 180 houses at Filands. They will also be making land available for a primary school, through a Section 106 agreement, which will offer the land for £1 to County Education for uses only for educational purposes.

It is not yet clear whether Gleeson are offering to fund the building of a new school. However, it is a condition of any large scale application that a number of homes are offered for affordable housing and Gleeson have confirmed that this legal obligation will be fulfilled.
