Wiltshire 2026 - Malmesbury Responses

Wiltshire Council carried out Public Consultation on Wiltshire 2026 including a public exhibition in Malmesbury Town Hall on 18th November 2009. Specific responses from the local community in Malmesbury to proposals for 200 new houses are contained within a report on the Public Consultation published by Wiltshire Council. While the vast majority of responses oppose the proposed development, Gleeson and other companies persist with attempts to build yet more houses in Malmesbury.

Wiltshire 2026 - Planning for Wiltshire's Future is an important stage in the production of the Wiltshire Core Strategy, which will provide an overall vision and strategy for meeting Wiltshire's needs over a 20 year period. When adopted, the core strategy will eventually replace elements of existing local plans. Wiltshire 2026 brings together all the work carried out by the former district councils and presents a strategy for development in Wiltshire for the period to 2026.

Other documents include the main report presenting a summary of the consultation, and individual comments submitted during the consultation period, are available from the Wiltshire Council web site. Wiltshire Council claim that the main report provides an accurate record of responses gathered by the consultation and briefly summarises the general themes that people and organisations feel to be important for Wiltshire and their own communities within it.
