Infrastructure audit needed for Malmesbury

The Town Council group meeting was held on 24th September

The meeting was attended by invited representatives from the Residents' Association, Chamber of Commerce, Malmesbury River Valleys Trust, Malmesbury Civic Trust and the Primary School Governors.

It was agreed that the social infrastructure of the town was inadequate after the growth in development, particularly over the last six years.

Roger Budgen, of the Residents' Association pressed for a pause in the construction of any more new housing development in the town until such time as a comprehensive and detailed audit of all the infrastructure services and facilities in the town has been undertaken.

The main outcome of this initial meeting was that the Town Council are going to request that Gleeson delay their planned exhibition to allow the group time to undertake some initial research into the proposals.

Another meeting of the group is planned for 8th October.
