The survey, commissioned by Small Steps, the Malmesbury based online parenting support community, is the idea of two mums, Helen Adams and Nicky Norridge, who both felt that Valentine’s day should be more about demonstrating love for your partner by little presents or actions, rather than being caught up in the commercial hype to spend larger amounts of money - especially when at the moment a lot of families are having to count every penny.
Nicky comments “We both believe that what women really want is just to feel appreciated and valued, it’s not about how much money is spent on them. Other ladies in the office agreed with us and so did mums on Small Steps online with for example one mum saying that being brought a Cup of Tea in bed on Valentine’s morning by her smiling partner was the best way to her heart!”. Others mentioned a Valentine’s Day card, flowers, chocolates, dining out and even help with the household chores!
Helen continues “So we decided to launch an online survey to see what other mums think and to let all loving men out there know what it is that women really want on Valentine’s Day”. The survey on http://www.smallstepsonline.co.uk/ValentinesDaySurvey.aspx only takes a few seconds to complete and is open until 12 noon on Friday 10 February when the final survey results will be published.
Nicky adds “We’re really intrigued to see what the survey will show and by announcing the results the weekend before Valentine’s Day, this will allow all romantic partners to be fully prepared for the day itself!” One lucky entrant will be also drawn to receive (you guessed it!) a lovely Cup of Tea goodie bag.
