In addition to introducing his novel, Andrew will read from his latest book of poems "The Cinder Path", and answer questions regarding his work. There will also be a book signing at the end of the evening.
When asked about his motivation in writing a sequel to Treasure Island, Andrew has said: "Treasure Island is a book I have loved since childhood: it is a cornerstone of my reading, and of my imagination. Excitement, mystery, intrigue, suspense, pathos and human sympathy: Stevenson combines all these things. I have tried to do the same - in a story which honours his original genius, but at the same time sails its own course."
The novel "Silver" will use the new Booktrack audio system for those who desire it, to enhance the reading experience by creating a synchronized soundtrack that automatically matches music, sound effects and ambient sound to your reading speed to create an immersive reading experience.
The event will take place on Monday 30th July at 7:30pm at Malmesbury School, Corn Gastons.
Admission is £10 for adults and £5 for school students.
For ages 15 and above.
