Clayton Derrick charged with ABH following assault at Devizes Esso service station Featured

A HOMELESS man has been charged following an assault at the Esso service station in Devizes on Friday night which led to the victim receiving treatment to head injuries at the Royal United Hospital in Bath.

Clayton Derrick, aged 33 from no fixed address in Devizes, has been charged with actual bodily harm and released on conditional bail.

He is due to appear before Salisbury Magistrates Court on December 4.

Officers were called to an incident at the Esso service station on The Nursery in Devizes at around 10.20pm following reports that a man had been assaulted on the forecourt.

South Western Ambulance Service later took the victim to the RUH in Bath for treatment.

Wiltshire Police said his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
