Emergency services were called to a barn fire in Malmesbury last night.

Police, ambulance and fire units were called to the scene.

A fire spokeswoman said: "We were called to a barn fire on Foxley Road, Malmesbury at 20:57 yesterday evening.

"A crew from Malmesbury and the water carrier from Royal Wootton Bassett attended the incident, finding a small fire within a pile of waste inside the barn which was being used for storage.

"One hose reel jet was used to extinguish – the stop came at 22:01."

Wiltshire Police were contacted for comment.

On social media, Malmesbury Fire Station added: "Initial call to assist South west ambulance with male with burns to face, diverted to barn containing large amount of building waste on fire crews with help from water carrier from Royal Wootton Bassett Fire Station.

"Second time we have been here, thankfully we were able to extinguish quickly."
