Memorial to Fighter Command

ONE of the key Wiltshire airfields used during the Second World War by RAF Fighter Command has had a memorial unveiled to the memory of those who served there.

M4 services closed due to diesel spillage

Leigh Delamere Services on eastbound M4 have been shut due to a diesel spillage.

The services are located between Junction 18 and Junction 17.

FORMER RAF personnel who may feel isolated and lonely now have a place to meet up in Calne.

A BOY accused of murdering schoolgirl Ellie Gould will appear in court this morning.

The 17-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is accused of killing the Hardenhuish School pupil at a home in Calne on May 4.

Plans afoot for carnival

AUGUST is set to see the biggest and best month of events in the history of the Malmesbury Carnival.

BIRTHDAY girl Helen Barker was given a surprise party by the congregation of her village church on Sunday.

MALMESBURY Abbey is the venue for a special dementia day on May 17, running from 10.30am to 3pm.

HISTORIC vehicles and vintage displays gave visitors an immersive look into British life during the Second World War.
