cold-comfort-farmBristol Old Vic Theatre School will be performing Cold Comfort Farm in an al-fresco presentation on the lawns of the beautiful setting of Abbey House Gardens, Malmesbury.

Stella Gibbons' Cold Comfort Farm has found a place in the hearts of many devotees of the comic English novel, parodying as it does the romantic stories of D. H. Lawrence and Mary Webb. In Paul Doust's hilarious stage play, the heroine, Flora Poste, embarks on a quest to discover her family's roots and as a result the "nice girl from London" meets the rough and ready Starkadders of Cold Comfort Farm.

Come with us into a world where there's something nasty in the woodshed, where porridge pulsates with the latest lust of rural romance and the Sukebind draws you ever closer into an intrigue that will keep you gripped and laughing in equal measure.

The Performance will be held in the Belvedere at Abbey House Gardens, in the event of inclement weather, on Tuesday 22nd May 2012.
