Residents are expected to rally against an appeal lodged by White Lion Land, the developers who were turned down by Wiltshire Council to build 77 new homes on land off Park Road; land which falls outside of the settlement boundary.

The original application was considered by Wiltshire Council to be premature in terms of a plan-led approach to sustainable development. It also failed to make any provision for affordable housing or contributions towards education, public transport or open spaces on the site or to address issues of crime prevention or waste and recycling.

C'llr Simon Killane campaigned on behalf of a large number of local townspeople who strongly opposed the development explains "We only have a few weeks to get as many people as possible to write to Wiltshire Council." He is due to meet with the planning officer today to obtain the offical guidance.
