Cadet Aimee Tonks proudly shows off her awardCadet Aimee Tonks received the award for best first time cadet on camp, after spending a week with her fellow cadets from 992 (Malmesbury) Squadron as part of the Dorset/Wiltshire Easter Camp at RAF Henlow.

The camp included a trip to the Royal Air Force Museum Duxford in which the cadets had a great opportunity to spend the day looking at the range of various historical aircraft on display. The camp also had a tour of the station sections such as the joint arms control implementation, the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund (RAFBF) Centre and a visit to the RAF Regiment based at RAF Henlow. This gave the cadets an insight into the kind of lifestyle they would experience living on an RAF base.

Cadet Sam Brooks said: "At the start of camp the sergeant briefing us asked us who all the new people were and our hands went up. He then made me form up all of the cadets which I did easily thanks to all the training I've had back at Malmesbury Squadron. There must have been more than 20 of us overall and Cadet Tonks managed to win the best first time cadet on camp award. A big thanks to Cadet Kieran Sutton who helped us as it was our first time. He was a really good friend."
Cadet Tonks added "It was a great experience and I really enjoyed the week away. All of the activities were very interesting and the camp gave me the opportunity to mix with other cadets from squadrons across the Dorset and Wiltshire Wing. A special thanks to Cadet Kieran Sutton, who helped support, Cadet Sam Brooks and I on our first camp."
