On the Malmesbury Road, just outside Minety lies Autumn Lodge Farm where Mary, the alpha female tells us all about their brand new craft shop opening on 2nd October.

Read on to hear what Mary's got to say...

It's not quite time for the Autumn Newsletter just yet (and I have SO much news to tell you!), but I just wanted to drop you a quick note to say that we're opening our new Alpaca Craft Shop on Saturday 2nd October 2010! We think it's the first of its kind in this area and my humans have been working really hard to get everything ready.

They are going to sell lots of gifts made from our fleeces so they'll be lovely and soft and warm as well as balls of fibre for knitting, peg looms, spinning wheels, fleeces and knitting kits complete with patterns.

We've also had some bags made! We all wanted to have our picture on the bag but Isabella was chosen and I have to say she looks stunning!

Our humans have imported some alpaca knitted gloves, hats, scarves and toys from South America – this is where my grandparents came from and all these things make brilliant presents, especially with Christmas just around the corner. Best of all though you can meet my beautiful daughter Mary-Jo – she looks just like me!

The shop is upstairs in our new barn and to begin with will only be open on Saturdays from 10am until 4pm. There is plenty of parking and we are easy to find. There is no obligation to buy – just come and have a little look and meet the girls.

Mary x
