Athelstan Museum‎

Athelstan Museum has a wide ranging collection illustrating many aspects of Malmesbury history.

There are so many items that it is impossible to show all of them, or even a major part, so displays are rotated on a regular basis.

Abbey House Gardens

With over 1300 years of history, the first King of all England buried somewhere in the garden, two saints thrown down the well, and now one of the great gardens of the world. The spirit of the place shines through and could be the best garden visit you ever make.

The hilltop contains several freshwater springs, which created early settlements. Recent archaeological excavations have revealed stone town wall defences, which have shown history of a Neolithic fort and foundations of a wooden Iron Age fort between 800 and 500BC.
