Cdt Toby Jarvis of 992 Squadron, whose father is a Wing Commander in the RAF, went on his first flight recently in the German Made Tutor T1 Aircraft, used by the RAF as a Trainer; Toby witnessed the local area from above, commenting “There is nothing like flying over your local area at 2,000 feet, looking at the world from an aerial perspective”. It was more than sight seeing for this cadet as he was given control of the aircraft under the watchful and skilled eyes of his instructor, and learnt simple manoeuvres and was taught about Air Traffic Control & Communications.
Another “Ace” that day was Cadet Chris Lehrer who commented “ I’ve flown many times, but the conditions today were fantastic, it is breath-taking being able to see local landmarks from above, I really look forward to any flying slots I am able to take, and I strongly recommend it to others“.
Also flying that day were Cadet William Saunders and Cadet Rex Charman
