My names is James Millar and I'm married with two children and have lived in Malmesbury for 8 years. I'm a professional software developer and work with some of the biggest names in the industry. I'm also involved in running Friday cubs and through this I've discovered that many young children are keen to learn more about software and hardware development. I know many children were lucky enough to get a Raspberry Pi for Christmas and have great ideas of what they would like to do with them. Unfortunately many parents are going to struggle giving the help they need and most books are complex and difficult to follow.
This is why we came up with the idea of Malmesbury coders. What we're trying to do is get people like me who have experience working with software and hardware projects and bring them together with the children of Malmesbury. Give them the help and support they need to turn their ideas into reality. We are hoping to initially run a drop in clinic style session where people turn up for support. Later we plan to have structured sessions and demonstrations and invite people in to talk.
We are urgently looking for volunteers and a place we could meet so if your interested in finding out more, please drop by our website and get in touch.
